Index

Comments and Abbreviations

Mkunr Numbering of rikishi based on their Makunouchi entry
Shikona Last shikona used in Makunouchi.
General If a shikona is directly followed by (J) or (Ms), it means it was only used by the rikishi in Juryo or Makushita respectievely. In all other cases, the shikonas were used by the rikishi while in Makunouchi.
Shikona 1 If not otherwise noted, the shikona used by the rikishi when first entering Makunouchi.
Shikona X When and to what the former shikona was changed.
The date mentioned is the first basho the changed shikona was used, unless:
Date in (X) means the rikishi changed while below Makunouchi and returned X.
Date in /X/ means the change was temporary the basho X only. Thereafter back to the previous shikona.
If date is Var. for various, it means the changed shikona and the one before were used from time to time.
If date is Pron. it means the shikona is an alternate pronounciation of the one before it.
A [X] in a shikona means the kanji / kanjis for X was changed.
A [X(nr)] means the kanji for X was changed more than once and nr denotes the order of the different versions. Nr 1 means the original kanji version.
For the kanji of all the shikona, please refer to the japanese original of Atsuo Tsubota:
